we also have a trailer rv which was on scissors jacks on 4 corners, wheels chocked, tire x chocks, and front jack holding it and that also moved forward a bit as well as side to side. The side to side motion caused the trailer to hit the house and broke some shingles and damaging the awning frame a bit.
I wonder if I had the bigfoot on the jack stands as suggested above if it would have fared better. I guess that would depend on the rocking motion direction as well. Can too much front to back rocking let it slip off the jack stands? A week prior to this earthquake incident I was actually looking up (Camco 57371 Olympian Telescopic Jack) to place under the bigfoot but was waiting for the prices to go down on amazon - what very bad timing.. but again wonder if it would have saved me from the damage or make it worse if it would have slipped off the stands.
I inspected my bigfoot today and it looks like I may have a front jack damage. The screws holding it looks solid and the calk didn't look cracked but the motors on the front jacks are touching the screws (one side of the front jack is touching while the other front motor is very close but not yet touching the screws). I am waiting for the adjuster to show up to inspect the house before doing more inspection on the camper.
We live in American Canyon so we were hit very hard by the shaking.
