OK folks, there have been a few to many diesel vs gas threads that have shall we say gone to "Hell and a hand basket"! So if all of you would put in you BEST, no flaming reasons for going gas vs diese...

The engines will go forever but how about everything else?
I have Been looking at a lot of threads concerning 3/4 ton diesels and payload load and GCVW. Looking at a new chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 CC only. A gasser can pull 12,300lb and the diesel 13600lb for a 5er but wait... what’s the payload on a gasser, its 3000lbs and a diesel is 2300lbs. This is all sticker weights and some go beyond that... I think realistically it only pays to buy a diesel dually these days including all the environmental BS that is put on diesels which plummets the gas mileage of the past.
Don't get me wrong, I think Diesel's are awesome but it is a question of what they are combined with.
