Just received the latest Trailer Life magazine. They have the results of the yearly readers choice awards. The #1 choice for tow vehicles is.... wait for it... Ford!!! Chevrolet is #2, and Dodge is #3. I don't get it. Every time I see a post on here about ford trucks lots of posters will jump in to flame ford trucks as junk. So what gives????. You'll notice in my profile I drive a Ford truck but I'm not really a ford guy, always have driven a GM product, so haven't been drinking the blue koolaid. So, go ahead and flame me, I'm a firefighter and have the protective equipment to protect myself!!! LOL. (just couldn't help myself) Cheers John.
The deal is not the truck but the engines. Ford makes a great truck and I've seen nobody bash their truck on here. Some say one of the best if not the best and I agree. Ford makes super good gas engines. Great power, dependable, and last a long time.
The problem is the last time they made a great dependable diesel was in 2003 with their 7.3.
In fact we have a member here right now with a ruined vacation be of his Ford diesel. That is the problem, not the truck.
I've stopped and helped on two occasions 6.7 Cummins owners broken down on I10. I'm sure their Cummins ruined their vacation as well since they needed a tow truck to tow their truck and trailer to two different locations. At least the Ford made it to a dealership to get repaired.
I'll take my 6.7 Powerstroke over a 7.3 Powerstroke any day! :B
