Remember towing means 10 mpg. Most of my camping trips cost more then staying in a hotel due to fuel and campground fees. Ironically, its also more work then a hotel... bring your own towels, put chairs around the fire pit, empty tanks, etc. Camping is not a way to save costs- it sure is fun though.

It's a life style. But one that brings families together. I am much happier spending a weekend or vaction in our personal travel trailer with our own bathroom, kitchen and bed than in a hotel room where thousands of other people have been. Just sayin
Agree 100%. We typically go for a week to the beach in the summer. We stay in a nice condo that's very clean and well kept. My DW loves the beach, I'm more of a mountain man. I love our week camping at a SP in the summer more. Our own rig, own stuff and it's just more relaxing to me. So we have the best of both worlds each summer and are fortunate to be able to do that with our boys
