I had a set on our old Tundra and they definitely affected the ride loaded and empty. With the tt in tow and 20psi they were great and worked as advertised. Unloaded with the minimum 5psi the ride was stiff and harsh.
These were the Airlift style with leaf spring suspension. The rubber is thick and is a constant connection to the frame and axle so it will affect the ride quality. Mine were the single bellow bags. I have read that the effect is less with the double bellows style.
I'm not sure what the style is for our Rams with the coil springs. A co-worker has Airlift bags on his Ram 1500 that sit inside the coils with no attachment. They are much thinner material than the rubber and don't seem to have any affect on his ride. I don't see the same style for the 2500.
