On a side note I have been thinking of getting one of the bolt on receiver hitches for the rear bumper on my camper. Has anybody had a good luck with those for holding bikes?
:h :S
If you are smart, stay away from ANY REAR mounted bike racks especially ones that mount directly to the bumper.
Most RV bumpers are paper thin (1/16") and are not designed for the extreme twisting forces which happen when you have 2 or more bikes hung on a rack.
Play it smart, buy a tongue mounted rack (goes over top the propane tanks), front vehicle rack (mount receiver to the front of your vehicle and use a receiver type rack), if you have a truck put them in the bed or put them INSIDE the trailer.
DON'T DO what I did (on the back of the trailer :S ), I ALMOST LOST MY BIKES AND BUMPER. I WAS LUCKY to find the bumper RIPPING AWAY FROM THE FRAME WELDS instead of not finding them at all. :E
I LEARNED from my mistake and built a rack which fits over top my truck bed topper :B
