They do. All AAM axles (GM and RAM) come with a finned aluminum housing.

Nope. My 2014 Ram 2500 has the 11.5" AAM axle and the OEM diff cover is a good 'ole stamped steel unit. Not aluminum cover with fins on mine......but I would like one. Thanks for the link to the AAM cover on Ebay.

Well like I wrote, I don't know for sure what year they became standard and also, they were only on HO engines in the beginning.
They all have them now.
Like I posted earlier, I believe only to max tow duallies have them. Chris
