Recall S43 - Airbag Passenger's side Dodge 2500 Diesel

Well here we go again! Another recall and again 'no replacement parts' in stock, at present. Over the past several years, I've had approx. 4 or 5 (maybe more) safety recalls from Dodge concerning my pick-up.

The latest was "Safety Recall S43" and it's all about the Airbag Infiltrator (Passenger side). In the letter it states there's no parts available. So, the question begging to be answered is - when does Chrysler/Dodge expect to receive the necessary parts to fix that issue?

As I'm in Canada - did anyone else who received a letter like mine - have the repairs completed; or get an indication as to the timeframe

  • If you want to read about Takata and airbags, check out this story in yesterdays Anchorage, AK. newspaper.

  • It's a Takata part probably. Surely you've read about the Takata airbag recalls across millions of vehicles (not just Dodge either) that continues to get worse and worse, right?
  • I've been waiting for an appointment now for 5 weeks since I called to set it up. They had parts for driver's side but I wanted it done all at once. The old parts have been in there for 12 years so I'm not feeling too rushed.
  • Sit back and dont worry. My passanger air bag recall took a couple of months for parts to filter down the chain. The chances of a problem are pretty small, butmif you do, Ram will bump you up the food chain pretty fast.
