Recaulking Windows

Have a new to me 2001 Lance 1010. Has spent most of it's life stored in garage when not in use, so in good shape.
Caulking around most windows show hairline separation between window frame and factory caulk, worst is in picture(if I posted right). Know I need to remove/cleanup loose area's.
Now the question, what to use.
-- Dicor non sag, but they don't make clear.
-- Polypropylene
-- Or?
Thanks for the help.

  • There is a Dicor Non Sag clear. Just used it on my trailer.

Definitely no on Dicor. Only appropriate place to use that is on a roof.

    Yes on Sikaflex.

Geocel ProFlex - not sure I will use it again. It's turning hard and brittle similar to what's shown in your photos.

HI Deltabravo: I have used Geocell clear and white and both are easy to apply and smooth out. I have not heard of or used Sikaflex-201. Is it as easy to apply and smooth out (tool) as Geocell? Has anyone experienced Geocell Proflex RV cracking yet? I have not had that happen but it is getting stiff where only a finger nail will dent it. cheers Christl
  • 3M Indoor/Outdoor Caulk remover and a scraper made from 1/4" plexiglass. The 3M comes out like a past so it doesn't run down the side of the camper. It may take two applications as whatever that stuff Lance used is like iron. I know because that is what I'm doing now on the 1998 Lance 945 that I just bought. Save yourself some grief and get the 3M.
  • Thanks for the replies.
Checked Sika web site... Looks like Sikaflex-201 US is the one to use for RV's. Is that the one you Sika user's used?
  • Dicor is made as "self leveling" for use on roofs and is also made as "non-self leveling" for use on vertical surfaces. It is about all I use, other than eternabond tape.
