When I was using a removable tongue extension it added 38". I was using it with a CC carrying a 10 1/2' then an 11' camper pulling a 4 horse dressing room trailer. Pulled it through the mts of West Virginia plus around the mid-west and never had a problem with it in the 8 years of use
