And I sure woulnd't want to tow a trailer whose pivot point is under the truck camper. The trailer is going to track tighter than the truck on turns, which equates to a maneuverability nightmare.
That extra trailer length also makes the trailer tow down the road straighter and tighter.
It’s a law of physics. The shorter it is the waggier, the longer it is the more stable.
