Recommend a TT cover/tarp

My daughter's family bought a 26' TT a couple of years ago and have been enjoying it with the rest of their family. When they bought it, they bought a cover. Well this past winter/spring a strong wind ripped it to shreds. It was not a cheap one by their budget ($200?).

What brand cover/tarp, within reasonable price range, would you recommend ? I am sure they would prefer a full cover, but if they are more prone to failure a good tarp will at least keep the roof dry.
  • I used an Adco cover for a few years. It held up well, but like most, hard to use in windy conditions. If they blow enough, they will mar the finish, or damage the roof edges. I sold it, and will not use one again, due to the work involved. Mine was on previous FW, maybe a TT would work better??? The cover was around $375 IIRC.

  • Another vote for an ADCO.
I used the saem one for 12 years on our last TT. Kept the trailer like new and clean over the winter. Even the graphics lasted.
  • I bought a $400 ADCO used on Facebook for $125. It was only used for one season, and was in great shape. The seller moved from a travel trailer to a fifth wheel.

We've used it 3 winters in Montana, and it's still in good shape.
  • If a strong wind ripped a new cover to shreds, it was not installed correctly. And even if it was, covering a TT is not a set it and forget it kind of thing. You have to make sure the straps are not coming loose.

I've used the same ADCO cover since my TT was new, and I don't have problems with ripping from wind, or the finish being "marred", nor have suffered from roof edge damage. It's worth the effort to me to ensure it is covered correctly, and to check on it frequently when covered.
  • For previous posts search this Forum for `RV Cover' and read on. I always recommend a Sunshield tarp.
