stay with the OEM GM pads. I've tried other aftermarket pads on all brands of vehicles and with the exception of german cars, OEM worked best. On german cars, going with Akebono's eliminated brake dust without any other downsides.
So.... Akebono's would be my second choice.
BTW on my 2004.5 LLY duramax, it turned 150K and the OEM pads look to be good to at least 200K miles. I know two others with 2500HD's duramax trucks that went over 250K miles before needing pads.
A big difference compared to my s-10 that would barely get 25K out of a set of pads.
