Aerodynamics play a big part in towing ease when you start getting into marginal situations where your trailer weight is close to your towing capacity, so as others suggest, if you don't want to get a new tow vehicle I would seriously look at a Casita, Scamp, Airstream or Escape. The traditional square shape trailers have so much wind resistance that it really puts a strain on lesser powered vehicles. For example, my rig will seldom exceed 55 mph coasting down pretty much any normal steepness grade because of the wind resistance.
The egg trailers are small on the inside, but for 2 people and no dogs I feel like it would be fine. They also have better resale value, so if you feel like you want to upgrade your tow vehicle and TT later it shouldn't be too painful.
