I've had the same camper since '01 but 4 different tow vehicles. My trailer is small, about 2,000 lbs. My '00 Cherokee did a fine job, but my '03 Grand Cherokee with same engine was a dog. '07 Vue was fine, '12 Santa Fe is by far the best. All had/have a 6 cylinder but HP all different. Vehicles vary, even though tow ratings may be similar. You didn't post which GC you have. Maybe you should try another post to check how your GC stacks up as a tow vehicle.
