Reese DC question

We're back in a TT and I've been researching WD hitches and have settled on the Reese DC. I searched but couldn't find and answer I'm looking for. When turning sharp will the bar roll off the cam?

I've read you can back up with them but what if you have to do some sharp turning to get in tight spaces. From the videos I've seen it looks like it comes close on normal turns.

Thanks

  • We used a Dual Cam for over 10 years....never had a problem backing or had a bar jump out of the cam...The DC is a really good hitch.

New trailer, thought I'd give Blue Ox Sway Pro a try and glad I did. Much easier to install and set up, absolutely quiet, does just as good a job with sway as the DC, no exposed grease on the bar ends.
  • Another who has been using the Reese DC for years with no bar coming off or any other issues. I would use this system again just make sure you understand the system of how it is setup so you can fine tune it once you have your trailer ready and loaded for camping.

I`ve only popped one once. turning around at the end of my street. the truck and trailer were almost touching. otherwise it should never pop off in normal driving. I don't even remove them when backing into a campsite.

Best system out there for me!

X1, used the DC for 11 yrs. on a 32' TT and never had a problem. Great sway control in almost accident type situations. A car had a flat and then swerved into the rear of my truck, my truck traveled from the far right hand lane to the outside of the left lane. the truck and trailer just make a big "S" pattern and then straightened right up as I pulled back into the right lane to stop and inspect for damage. I felt I had complete control at all times.
  • I previously used the Reese Dual Cam for 8 years and never had an issue with the bar coming off the cam.
