I was thinking Of towing our ford fusion that has a curb weight of 3200 lbs. behind The truck/TC combo end of April from Dallas to upstate NY around May 1st. Most likely buy a tow dolly. I already own a Reese Titan 24/34 " hitch extension. Looks like I will need to use 34" slot as regards to custom bumper length of Adventurer 910 DB TC. States max tongue weight of 600 lbs. and max trailer weight of 6000 lbs. I am a newbie to towing a vehicle behind truck/TC combo. Anyone use this hitch?

I have been using one that looks just like it, for over ten years. I flat tow a modified Samurai. Weight is about 3000 lb.I do use side chains.Wayne

I use a similar 2 1/2 hitch extension but generic. Mine is 18 inches from the hole to the end where you insert the ballmount. Do count your ballmount length in clearing the bumper. I cut mine down to shorter and drilled another hole from the 24 inch because otherwise, it extended past the bumper with no ballmount and was in the way when stepping to the step.Shorter is better because it has less leverage on the hitch. My camper is called a 9 1/2 foot and 18 worked for me.

My safety chains and side stabilizing chains are the same. For some reason, I can't post photos now. I will try later.

The turnbuckles are part of the safety chain system. They are forged 3/8", with eyes on each end. They were about $18. If I were to do it again, I might use 1/2", the working load on the 3/8" is only about 1000 lbs.

There are no open eyes any place in my safety chain system. I used several Quick Links.

As bigfootford posted, I use the Ready Brake system that you see in my photo.

Here is my setup for towing the Zuke.
My extension is 18".
Reddog1 and Skipro1 and I all use the Ready Brake system.

get a good equalizing braking system like a Blue ox Patriot or equal quality its worth its weight in gold ,during a panic stop
