- APTExplorerMy TT has 500 pounds dry TW, 6900 pound GVWR, and I have been happily using 1200 pound bars for 4 seasons. F-150 and Suburban TVs. Expect to increase TW by 150-250 pounds over dry. 1000 pounds seems appropriate.
- pacamperExplorerSorry about that, you are correct 910 lbs, but will the 1000lb bars be to stiff, I can't see me loading to the 7000 gross weight ?

Based on your info...7K gross, I'd use them. At least take a trip or 2 and see how it goes, feels, etc.
Are you really going to load your trailer to the 7K gross?
OOPs...I need to check my math as well.. disregard my post above. - jmtandemExplorer II
Weighing it would be better. My 50-gal fresh water tank is right up front. The 13% figure has no idea how much water is in it.
Weighing it would be best! The intent of my comment was not to use brochure or dry weights--they are the worst! Weigh it full of water and all the camping stuff. - jmtandemExplorer II
my gross weight is 7000lbs, so 13% would be 538 ish lbs of tongue weight, so are my bars ok, or should i go heavier ?
You might double check your math. I would look at 1000 pound bars for a 7000 pound gross trailer. (7000 x .13 = 910 ??) - sh410Explorer13% of 7000# = 910#. 1000# would be advised.
