Dometic support help track down a company that was "in-line". Dometic also indicated that it was illegal to charge for recalls. I will let them battle with the other RV shop.... those guys have lost my business.
This "saga" isn't quite over. So 4 months after having the recall done, the RV company sends me notice that I owe them $160 for the recall work. What!!!! No cost was identified at the time of the work and after the work. It appears that they want to "ding" someone for doing a "complete propane line test" because its the "law" in ontario when work "touches the system"... so according to the their work description, when to they touched the one line at the fridge, they now need to test my stove, water heater and other areas of the trailer. Sounds like a good "scam" to me... even Dometic seems rather "unimpressed" / "unaware" of this as they (dometic) only provide $40 for the recall... which from my view seems about right... 30-40 minutes work. Heck I could buy the heating tin for $5, cut it and form it like the one install in under an hour... which I would have done if I would have known this "scam" was going to happen.
So any one doing this type of recall, I suspect especially in canada, be wary.
