Refrigerator drained on to floor- help !!!

We just returned from a trip and were cleaning the inside and outside of the trailer. All gas and appliances shut down and I had paper towels lining the base of the fridge and freezer compartments for drip. However, when I came out the bathroom, I discoved a stream of water coming from the base of the fridge cabinet area all the way across the trailer floor. I sopped that up and put paper towels at the corner of the base where the water seems to be coming from.

Does anyone know why or how this could happen? I thought the fridge units had an external drain.

It is a Norcold fridge in a 2010 Nash 27E. This is the first time we've ever experienced a problem like this.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

  • Thank you for the info. We checked underneath and found nothing out of the ordinary. Will check the drain tube.
  • I had the same thing happen and discovered that the drain hole in the back side of the refrigerator was clogged. This is inside the frig on the bottom shelf in the back.

    X2. Happened to mine.
Check the drip/catch tray inside at the back of the fridge to see if it is overflowing. If it is you need to clear out the drain tube (mine was full of spider eggs!)
  • Are you sure it is from the fridge drain?

Possibly a water line or sink drain leaked and the water just found it's way out from the area under the frig.

Also, frig drain hoses are notorious for getting plugged up.
