- daveshanExplorerBeen thinking about it since the truck was new ('06), finally got around to taking the rear seat out this spring. Still kicking myself for waiting so long.
- SJRExplorerI think the down side of removing the back seat and using it as storage is what happens when you slam on the brakes. Those things stored would come flying forward.
- wcjeepExplorerNot sure about Toyota. Sometimes the rear seats act as a sound deadener for road noise transmitted through the rear wall of the truck. Cab might be noisier with rear seat removed unless you add something to the rear metal wall.
- Sparky87k5ExplorerI did that on my previous Ford SuperCab. I built a shelf where I put plastic boxes loaded with extra "stuff" I thought I needed. Kept my tool box there, extra oil, emergency supplies and spare parts, and a case of bottled water. Have since sold that truck and present truck has bucket seats and console in back. Don't plan on removing these seats.
- deloshollyExplorerYes, we sure did. We did it on our trip to Alaska and we have removed it to create room and save weight with our new TC. It creates a lot or room!!
