Renovating a 30+ year old pop-up

I have a 1983 Lionel pop-up that I'm renovating.

The full album is here: http://imgur.com/a/kvfwj

The plans are to give it a major face lift so it doesn't look so old. Plans are to repaint the cabinets, make new kitchenette cushions, replace the flooring, put in new blinds and curtains, put in new mattresses, etc. This will probably take about 9 months to do since I have to stop for winter because it's pretty much impossible to work outside during winter in Canada. I'm going to update this thread as I go. See you on my journey!
  • Looks like I need to purchase a bigger computer screen - so I can view your pics. :B

Looks fine to me "as is". Take your money and go camping.

I think it looks old and tired and I want to renovate it. Different strokes for different folks!
  • Here's what I've started with so far...

Anti-fatigue mats for under the mattresses:

Fabrics for the kitchenette cushions. The foam in the cushions is in excellent condition so I'm just going to steam clean them and re-use the foam:

Double-sized 3" memory foam mattress for our bed (has to be cut down to size but only by a little):

Double-sized 2.5" convoluted foam topper for the guest bed (has to be cut down to size but only by a little):

I need to order new snap carriers (the things that the d r a p e s' snap tape clicks into). Anyone know what type of snap carrier this is?

I haven't been able to find this exact one but I think this type of snap carrier is the equivalent: http://www.rvpartshop.ca/TYPE_E_SNAP_CURTAIN_CARRIER_p/cd45337.htm
