So this is probably an odd question... Has anyone rented a TV for a weekend type trip to haul a TT?For reasons I won't get into here, we had to re-adjust our lifestyle last month, and selling our truck was a major part of it. At the time we were thinking that since the TV will be gone we might as well put up the TT for sale too, but have started thinking that we'd hold onto it until we can buy a dedicated TV next year (we really like the TT). We know if the TT needs to be moved somewhere we could hire a tow, but were wondering if anyone ever rented a truck from somewhere once or twice a year to haul a trailer camping? If so, where would you get one from normally?

I rented a 1 ton pickup in Orlando back in 2005-2006. I can't remember where it was exactly. It was on the due west side of I-4. (I know I-4 has an east west direction but in Orlando the interstate does have a west side to it.) I am thinking around Lee Road. Again, this was 8 years ago so forgive me if I'm off some or the business has moved.The company was a trucking type that also did repair work. The price was reasonable for renting that type of truck.

The only place I know of that rents trucks with hitches is Hertz Commercial. The location near me has F-250 and F-350 crew cabs for about $250/day.

If you just need to move a trailer U-Haul can be a good option. I might feel a little funny camping with a U-Haul. Then again, you would have plenty of space for the folding chairs and bicycles.

$80 a day including mileage! Told em exactly what I was planning to do they said the truck is ready to tow just needs the ball. So glad I found this thread.

x2 on enterprise truck rental. pretty reasonable. Also, United Rentals which I think are all over the US, rents trucks to tow with. Both of these companies will let you travel all over US while renting there truck and towing with it.

I found out most other rental companies wont let you tow with there rental, and if they did they wanted you to stay within a few hundred mile range.

What if you give a loval RV dealer a call. They may be able to help you out or leadcyou in the right direction.

Thanks again- I had no idea one could do this. We've been thinking of letting one of our trucks go, but have been hesitating because we do occasionally use it to tow bigger trailers.

Did you just talk to them on the phone or is there an internet site with the details? And if the latter, can you post the link? All I'm finding is this page, which doesn't say anything about towing specifically.

I just called the nearest one. WWW.enterprisetrucks.com is their website. They quoted $10 less than the website showed and confirmed the trucks had extension mirrors/brake controllers.
