Repairing siding

I have a 2000 Lance 1010 it has the (I think Fillon?) Fiberglas siding well where the awning is there is a crack in it I assume coming from a screw hole And I have a musty smell in that area inside so It's leaking. Can this be repaired some how

thanks for the suggestions

  • Okay I was able to go out and get a picture of the crack, I'm looking for a wat to repair the crack, there is no soft spots inside or out around the whole crack so repairing the crack now is a must
  • Yup, working on dry rot in a camper in the snow (or heat) definately qualifies as a double negative. Triple negative if you run out of beer.
  • I can't work on my camper neither.
    Full sun reaching 90F :D

Since you say it is under the awning, I would cut bigger hole to investigate, leaving it under awning footprint, so it will not be visible.
Once you have a bigger hole - you can blow the dryrot and inject epoxy.

We just got 12 inches of snow and more on Saturday so I won't be doing anything for a few weeks

  • I wish it was a corner, it's pretty much in the middle of the right side
  • This never turns out easy as siding is just surface indication of the problem below.
I had similar problem and was able to pull the siding out from whole corner and epoxy dry-rot in the framing. Than I used marine-grade adhesive caulk to reattach the siding and seal it.
Still such jobs often change into chain reaction.
    Good luck
