I have a 2005 Fleetwood Bounder Model F with 3 slides (gas). I am 5'7" and to open my manual awning I have to get a stool just to reach the side release latches to open them just to pull it down. Once it is down I have to get out my six foot folding ladder to put the diagonal side braces in position and lock them down. This is my 5th class A and I have never had this much trouble before. If a windstorm blows up it takes too long to get it down. I like the flexibility of the manual awning but because of the slide out cant put much slope on it for shade anyway. Currently researching Dometic and Colorado carefree, for an electric awning , leaning towards Carefree because they can use my awning and roller ...Dometic wants to replace all at a tune of 2600 dollars. If some one else has a fix for my manual awning , I sure would be glad to listen.
