I now get a full 3a of braking current at each brake assembly vs. only 2.1a - 2.3a with the IBC.
Yup, plug and play. I removed the IBC's 4-prong connector (above the accelerator, under the dash) from the main dash harness and plugged in the P3 RAM pigtail instead. The P3 is completely operational (electrically) at that point without any dealer flash or other user presets. It's important to use the correct Ram P3 pigtail. I believe the part number for the 2015-2016 Ram P3 pigtail is 3024-P. Other years require a different P3 pigtail.
As for the EVIC (when selecting "Trailer Brake"), it simply shows the IBC as "disconnected". No specific error codes.

I just read on one of the RAM forums that someone tried to order a RAM IBC from a RAM dealer. The supplier replied that they were instructed to return all IBC stock back to Chrysler as Chrysler was aware of a defect with the controller.
Thats just peachy... I wonder if the Tundra and the Ram share OEM suppliers because the new Tundra's IBC is getting blasted on forums. many folks are unplugging the IBC and plugging in P3 Prodigy brake controllers and reporting much better braking.
Just curious if this similar problem is due to the OEM that builds the IBC.
Thanks!
