Why ignore the dry weight. If the trailer has a large CCC then using the GVWR is meaning less. My trailer has a 4100lb CCC, of which I use 1800-2000lbs. That leaves 2k lbs unused! So I go by the dry weight plus an avg of 1500lbs. I pack heavier than most, so 1500 is a good rule of thumb.
What is your tow rating and trailer GVWR?
