replacement table

anyone know where a replacement table for a 2002 jayco qwest can be had? it completes the table bed so needs to be the right size.
  • I changed out the spring loaded legs on my Rockwood to diner pedestals yesterday.

I had a friend make one from cedar for our hybrid, which uses the same type of table to also use as a bed. It's 1/3 the weight of the original press wood table, it's stronger, and water proof. And it looks a whole lot better too. The boards used were about $50.

Great idea and a nice table!

  • Thanks to profdant139. Nicer, lighter and better than the original.
  • Have you contacted Jayco? They may have a replacement available.
Any fabricator of laminated counters could make one.
But, you can make one yourself...not that difficult but use a good router bit designed for trimming the edge, which can be a little tricky.
Or, make one of high grade plywood and use stain and urethane finish. Satin wipe on urethane is easy to use and is less prone to attracting dust. But, it takes more coats to really build up the surface.
  • You use to be able to purchase unfinished table tops at places like Home Depot. You could cut it to size and stain and urethane it to match your woodwork. Another alternative is to purchase plywood cut it to size and cover it with matching formica.

I just threw away a complete Dinette out of a 2009 Keystone Hideout. They use chip board covered with formica and they tend to warp over time.
  • sounds like a good DIY project to me. Home depot and a case of beer.
