I have done this also. It is very simple. The entire Dinette structure is simply screwed to the floor and walls. Your husband will easily find those screws by removing all the seating pillows and exposing the "bones" of the thing. If there are any of those little upholstery buttons that are fabric covered on any part it usually means there is a screw underneath.
Just unscrew the thing and keep the parts! These parts match the rest of your interior and are a great resource for making future repairs and using as trim. This dinette structure will probably be stapled together with very long "2 inch" staples. It will just pound apart with a rubber mallet.
