Let me clarify. Not really looking to repair the existing cover. We already have a replacement cover in hand. It's a Heng's 17x24 90088-C1 and the hinge appears to match what we have.
Trying to find the best way to remove/replace the old cover. Hard to see exactly how to remove the opening crank, especially how to get the end of the crank arm to slide off the crossbar in the middle.
We're a little confused because the new cover comes with a crossbar and new screws, but the crossbar is not installed. There is also one strip of weather stripping that is not installed. The other three sides are. Might be shipped that way to lessen damage...don't know.
For those that have replaced these covers, do you recall exactly how to remove the arm from the crossbar? Do you have to install the crossbar after sliding the cover in place?
Probably making this a bigger issue than it is. Hope others can remember the steps and share their experiences. Or we might need to just go slow and see what happens :h
