This looks to me, to be similar to replacing regular 14x14 vent covers. I can't be sure from pic though. If you have replaced the regular covers in the past, you should be able to get this one done.
Maybe someone with same 17x24 cover will respond. I'd just disassemble what's needed to remove the old, and reinstall the new one from there.
