replacing sleeper sofa with wall saver reclining love seat

We have a 2011 Denali RE. Beause of my husband's back problems, I am thinking of replacing our sleeper sofa with a wall saver reclining loveseat. Has anyone ever done this? I don't know hard it would be to remove the sofa, and what the floor looks like under the sofa. A Pinnacle wall saver loveseat by Lazy Boy will fit the space..just barely..with just a little wiggle room to pull the right hand end of the loveseat out a little bit so the whole unit will slightly slant towards the t.v. I am a little nervous about doing this because one I order the loveseat, it is mine...no returning! I would appreciate any comments from anyone. Barbara

Great I'm looking forward to that picture. Thanks.
  • My self and 4 other guys took our sleeper sofa out and replaced it with a loveseat duel recliner. Tight fit getting the old sofa out and new recliner in . Did not have to take either one apart. Now the DW and I can recline to our hearts content
  • We removed our jack knife bench as it was very uncomfortable to sit on. Also got rid of the small rocker/recliner. Replaced with two leather slim line rocker chairs we got at Ikea. Very comfortable especially with my periodic back issues. Much less weight also.
  • We took out the loveseat wall hugger in our 2006 TT and swapped it out for the sleeper in our 2013 TT. We need to pull out the loveseat in order to reach the push buttons on the side, but not a problem. We also have two recliners. JMHO
  • I'm going to do the same thing. The La Z Boys have a removal back and the height of the arm rests are usually 24" or less squished down so it should go through the door OK. Take some measurements of your space and take a tape measure to the store. Most loveseats are around 60 to 68" wide. My space is 72" wide.

I was about to order one from la z boy but hard to justifiy $1200 for a loveseat for the trailer. So now I'm on the craigslist hunt for a well cared for used loveseat in the right color. Usually they go for $100 to $300 used. Just trying to find the right one.
  • Sleeper sofa will need to be disassembled in order to go thru door.
Some have backs that remove........otherwise you will need to break it apart

The love seat will also have to be in two sections in order to fit thru door.
So make sure back will separate from seating section...otherwise you will have to remove window to get it in (rear window)
Make sure the overall measurements will fit in space.........width/length/height and if in a slide out that it will not interfere with slide out movement.

We looked into replacing our sleeper sofa with loveseat but all loveseats were 1/2" to long to properly fit in slide out....so we opted for new Lazy Boy chairs
