Replacing the light in the light switch?

I have a bank of red interior on/off switches in my camper that turn on the outside lights. The switches illuminate when they are on. One of the switches does not illuminate, but it still turns on the outside light.
So my question - How doe I replace the little bulb inside the switch?

I'm able to get off the backing plate w/out issues, but before I do damage trying to get the toggle switch off I thought I'd ask to see what the trick is. Also, anyone know the make/model of the replacement bulb? It is on a Lance. Thanks.

Not knowing anything about what your switch bank looks like perhaps you can swap out the rocker switch...

There are several sources on the internet much like this one... RADIO SHACK should carry similar items as well...

    RED ILLUMINATED ROCKER SWITCH

If you are going to Radio Shack remove the switch and take it with you for size comparison... If you have several positions on your bank and maybe the ones on the end are not being used perhaps you can move a good switch down to the position that has the bad LED light ??

I suspect the "light" is going to be a wired-in small LED bulb. May not be easily replaced. i.e. it may be soldered in place

Perhaps you can find a schematic or some help on the internet by searching for the SWITCH PLATE model number...

  • FishB8s,

I think you would be better off (and perhaps less expensive) by just replacing the whole switch. Radio Shack and automotive supply shops usually have a selection of lighted switches. You could maybe find it at a good RV shop too.
