Rieco Titan 2500 blown fuse

Got to my current destination and got about halfway done unloading camper to ground when I noticed the driver rear jack was barely moving, bogging down not keeping up with the other side, sounded funny, ect. Got about an inch from getting it down to where I wanted and it quit altogether. The other 3 worked. Close enough for now, supper and bed.
Next day I replaced a fuse and it's now working normally. I don't want to get stuck up in the air so I'm only moving a few inches up and down to test that.
Called rieco Titan who stated that a blown fuse can be caused by bad motor or bad wiring. To test swap with one of the other 3 power heads which can be taken off by removing the uppermost set of set screws and unplugging the wiring from the receptacle. I asked about using drill to operate the jacks manually and they suggested against that, too hard on it. New motor is about $300. The owners manual says that a ratchet wrench should be used. I have a stubby 3/8 ratchet but upon testing I could barely move it. Even with a longer ratchet or breaker bar I believe it would be a killer to use.

Anybody here ever swap out power heads? Is it plug and play?

Anybody here who has used a large ratchet to operate jack?
  • Swapping out the power head is easy if that is the problem. Make sure your assembly is not binding and causing the issue. You can use a high torque drill on the jack but avoid using an impact wrench. The impact will eventually damage the gears, pins or key ways in your jack.
  • Do you cut off a 3/8" extension to be able to attach to drill?
