- bonniebear1Explorer2wk trip to Glacier Natl' Park. One of my favorite places to visit. Just beautiful!
- Hoosierdaddy47ExplorerNew job, little vacation time yet, so only 2 trips on long holiday weekends: Memorial Day, Long Point S.P. on Lake Ontario. Would've been hot, but for the lovely lake breeze (NO hookups! And my "generator" is a 5.7 liter Hemi!); Independence Day, Kayuta Lake Campgrounds, just outside the Adirondacks (Full hookups, yay!), an extraordinarily friendly family-owned, family oriented place I found by accident based on its proximity to the Boy Scout camp we were dropping our son off at after our trip!
- PAThwackerExplorerWork, kids, busy schedule has us glamping weekends at local state parks, campgrounds, and amusement parks.

We go to the Pinery every summer for a week. It is a great campground. Very large - about 1,000 sites, but they are spread out over a number of areas in the park.
It has a very good beach - 10Km long, and lots to do an see. Great walking/biking trails and numerous events put on by park staff.
It is also very hard to get a site at during peak vacation time - July and August and any of the CDN long weekends.
The only downside to this park is poison ivy is rampant through the Riverside campground.
Check out this website to learn more abot the Pinery - http://www.pinerypark.on.ca/index.html
It is supported by a volunteer organization but does give a great deal of information in comparison to the Ontario Parks site.
PM me if you have specific questions about the park and the area in general - tracyb1101ExplorerIL, Iowa, Michigan & Ohio for us.. We are also planning for Kentucky (Nov) and Southern Indiana in Oct...Anyone been to Pinery Provincial Park near Lake Huron?
- ShamRockerBobExplorerWe spent two weeks at Huntington Beach State Park, South Carolina in late June, early July. It was hot but the breezes on the beach made it nice. It is also the best place to see and photograph migrating wading birds like herons, egrets,
spoonbills, etc. We are getting ready to go back for another week in September.
HBSP is next to Murrells Inlet which is S.C.'s seafood capital. Can't wait. - Car_GuyExplorer

All these cool weather spots sounds great. We've spent the whole summer 2 hrs from home in some great Florida State parks. But just darn HOT. Looking forward to a cool trip in the fall.
Come on north! Wisconsin was in the 90's most of July, I'd expect we'll get snow here in the next week or two... ;)
We hit the ground in June coming east, Hershey, Lancaster, D.C. up to Livonia MI and back to Wisconsin, otherwise just a couple local weekends. Too busy, and I agree, too hot! - nole_trainerExplorerAll these cool weather spots sounds great. We've spent the whole summer 2 hrs from home in some great Florida State parks. But just darn HOT.
