I know how the OP felt upon having the new sway bar installed....
I purchased my new cabover (the Fleetwood Angler) in March 2008 as the old rotted out 1981 camper shell that came with my rig finally took its last beating after coming back from my Arctic Circle trip in August 2006.
Thanks to all on RV.Net when doing extensive research (before officially becoming a member) on what to upgrade and how to approach it all, I covered all the bases and not messed around as I invested in my rig for the long term.
The camper shell was $4000, the suspension upgrades with all new rebuilt twin I beam front end components (exception of the king pins) including the recon steering gear, custom rear springs, Rancho 9000's, front and rear and airbags, and front and rear sway bars was $3900 total including freight charges... as $800 of the total cost there was labor I didn't do myself as I let the reputable front end shop do the work right - that was beyond my capability.
I ordered the beefiest sway bars that I could find for my truck, which were the 1.125 inch Hellwigs, and installed myself and let me note that when I make any left or right turn in my maxxed out gross weight truck, it feels like I am not hauling heavy weight around as the truck does not lean or sway around it is sooooooo nice !

The following month after the suspension upgrades were completed, I took my first trip with the new camper shell on a 5060 mile round trip to the Northwest Territories as the camper rig handled superb from Fairbanks to Yellowknife and back in August 2008.
The last 6 consecutive times on yearly permitted vacation upon taking my camper out on extensive road trips, I am still quite happy with these beefier sway bars as my rig feels like superior handling all the way.
