Rocwood Roo vs. Jayco JayFeather Hybrid

Hey Gang,

Just starting to do my homework. I have a Rockwood dealer not far from my Jayco dealer. Both are a haul should I need any warranty work. My closest dealer is Camping World (shudder) and a Coachman dealer (most folks seem to push me to Jayco or Rockwood).

I've only owned Jayco trailers in the past and my dealer is excellent. However, its good to look at the competition. Does Forest River build a better product than Jayco/Thor?

  • The Jayco X20E hybrid in my sig is our second one. The first was an '03 Kiwi 17a that we bought new and owned for 10 years. Both have been great trailers the only issues being minor fit and finish issues that I fixed myself. Otherwise very solid.

I don't personally know anyone with a Roo but I've rarely heard anything negative about them. You may want to look just to compare floor plans and features. Rockwood has an interesting warranty: 1. Twelve-year vinyl roof warranty, 2. Two-year fiberglass warranty, 3. Five-year axle warranty, 4. Five-year tent warranty, 5. One-year bumper to bumper warranty, 6. Available second-year warranty. That alone would make looking worth while.

Keep in mind that already having an excellent dealer that you know and trust would make the decision for me. It's why we've bought 3 trailers from our dealer and didn't even look elsewhere.
  • Hopefully Jayco still has the 2 year bumper to bumper warranty. One question I might consider does Rockwood have the same.
