Roof issue

We have a 2012 Grey Wolf that we bought used a few years ago. Ive noticed the rubber roof has what I'd call "spider cracks" all over it. Some places are worse than others. I suspect someone might have used a product on it thats not good for epdm rubber. My question is do yall think I should coat it with something like Dicor or am I going to have to replace the rubber.

  • My 2007 Travel Star looked just like this. I used Dicor product and was very satisfied with the results. Follow this link and you'll see the pics I posted. https://forums.goodsamclub.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/29286956.cfm

You can also email Dicor with questions and they respond within a day.
  • Maybe prep and seal the worst of the cracked areas with eternabond? Rest with the dicor?
  • A new roof will be several times the cost of coating. However, if you consider the amount of damage that can occur with a leaking roof that option may be a serious consideration. Good luck with this one.
  • I think you are correct in thinking that the wrong product was used on the roof. You should inspect where the roof is hidden, like under the AC shroud. It is only a guess if the Dicor coating will give good results long term. Maybe you could contact Dicor and get their opinion. Failing that, I would make a decision based on the prices of coating vs. a new roof.
