Hello All,I need please your advise. I'm a newbie and I'm looking to buy my first RV Kodiak 200QB 2015.The dealer had only one model in stock and this model won't be available next year (MD)Unfortunately, they installed this summer a Solar Panel one this RV instead of another.... So they removed the solar panel and they repaired the 4 holes on the roof with only Dicor.As I mentioned, I'm not an expert but I thought that should repaired the hole with a fabric backed seal tape 4inch x 4inch on each hole and sealed the edge of the fabric with Dicor, instead of adding only Dicor directly in the hole...I will probably adding a Solar Panel at the same place but not fixed on the roof at the same hole. So the existing hole must be 200% water proof. So can you tell me if the way that the dealer repaired the hole is ok or I should ask to start over with a fabric tape?The existing holes will be probably under my future solar panel, so I will secure my panel with a tilt mount kit in order the be able the check the hole by tilting my panel.Here a picture of one of the hole.Any comments will be greatly appreciated!!

Well, for sure it was the quickest and laziest way to do that job. Could also have used Eternabond Tape...but, it should hold just fine.It's a roof and they do get ugly over time anyway.

You could always keep an eye on it, and if/when the Dicor shows any signs of failing, scrape it off and cover the holes with Eternabond tape.

If they can't keep track of what trailer they was supposed to install the solar panel on, they may not have the sharpest tacks in the box working at this dealership, just sayin......

Dicor lap sealant is the recommended choice for roof seal repair, so I would think that this would work just fine. Put some Eternabond on it if it makes you feel better.

I agree it's a valid repair. If they have a parts department you could walk in and see if they sell a small package of Eternabond tape for repairing holes such as this. They used to sell such a package at Walmart for about $10, but I don't know it they still do.

Anyway if they sell the tape I would ask them to throw it into the deal or even go one step further and have them use the tape to cover the holes while you wait. I'm not so sure I'd pull the Dicor either, I'd probably just lay the tape right over it, press it down well with a hard roller and call it a day.

Definitely cover the holes with Eternabond. Then, you know I will not leak.
I would ask he dealer to throw in a roll as part of the deal.

If it was me, that is exactly how I would have repaired the hole.

Putting fabric over a screw hole is overkill in my estimation

I'd just have them GIVE me an INSTALLED solar panel using those holes.

New RV damaged roof. Should be worh a discount. Then just scrape off that dicor, clean with mineral spirits, put on some eternabond or sticknbond tape and Dicor over it. Like previous post pressure them for a further discount even if it is only some tape and Dicor. Did they mount it on the wrong RV or is it a bring back RV? Some states allow you to bring back a vehicle within a few days for almost for no reason. In some states I think it is 10 days but don't quote me on that. The law was created for impulsive buyers getting pressured by slimey sales people. If I liked the RV and all else was OK and a good discount I would buy it.
