roof top air conditioner KWH?

I can sure see why a manufacturer would rather install a propane generator over a gas generator. No fuel tank to build, certify and do whatever else the fed gov requires.

I know when I had motorhomes I ran across a few diesel motorhomes with propane generators installed by some manufacturers because diesel generators were so much more expensive. However, folks that had them usually didn't much care for them because they used so much propane and it's more difficult to get the propane tank on a motorhome filled. Diesel generators just draw from the existing 100 gallon diesel tank.

Now I've heard of a trailer with a propane generator but I really don't feel all that lucky today. :B

.25KWH isn't that unreasonable for some of us.

At my home I pay .09 for the first 200KWH then .22 for every KWH after that and my electric company gets its fuel from methane collected from a landfill and some hydro dams (see also, free fuel).

If by "run on propane" you mean run the propane generator to power the AC, it's not a 1-for-1 relationship.

Internal combustion engines are at best 25 percent efficient, so you are burning 54,000BTUs worth of propane to create 13,500BTUs worth of cooling, assuming the power generation and transfer is 100 percent efficient.

There are myriad variables to the equation such as temp/sun exposure/insulation/etc. Look at this way, it probably wont be more than $5 a day. Is it worth it to be comfortable? I know what my answer would be.
