I would put on the complete vents, it looks like your roof needs re sealing anyway.
I mentioned that in post 6 but was ignored. At least check the caulk and reseal the vent flanges.
If ignored, vent covers will be minor compared to the damage from water intrusion and rot.
People tend to ignore little issues like that, that turn into major ones down the road.
The flange mount failure in his pictures is on the leading edge, right where water pressure will push it in, under the vent flange and right into the wood underlayment and insulation.
I cannot stress that enough...CHECK YOUR SEALS AND CAULK AT LEAST EVERY 3 MONTHS....
Last unit I bought new, I found compromised seals on. Don't expect the factory to do a perfect job, humans put them together and to err is human after all.
I would probably replace the vents entirely as well. Removal will give you a good idea whether or not that compromised leading flange has let water in, under the flange and if it has, how bad it is, or isn't.
Removal of the entire vent will tell the story, right away.
Hopefully, for the owner, it's superficial.
Take this with a grain of salt, you were ignored because that info wasn't what I was asking for. The entire roof needs resealed. That I know and already addressed part of it starting yesterday.
I created the thread to see if anyone had Frankensteined together some covers.
I appreciate all the information provided, don't get me wrong. But assuming I'm going to ignore leakage issues is unfair.
