- dadmomhExplorerWe still use our red lantern tacky lights or in the fall the pumpkins. When baseball season arrives, it's gloves/balls lights. I do miss having to leave them off if the weather is questionable and have been known to yank the whole thing down in one swipe when a sudden storm comes up, but still prefer those to the rope lights. BTW, I just use 1" binder clips to hang the lights..easy to put on and quick to come down when need be.
- mister_dExplorerWe used to but recently switched to waterproof LED's that are glued to the side of the trailer.
- river_bravoExplorerThis is the first time I've heard of people using them on the ground. Does anyone have a picture of them laid out?
- dtzackusExplorerWe have the hooks for our awning, we like the rope lights, we actually have two sets that are connected to each other.
- AtomicChickenExplorerWe use them on the ground as well under the awning along the trailer. Makes it easy to see where you're walking once it gets dark.
- Rthomas61ExplorerOh yeah, provides a nice soft light so we can eat at the picnic table etc.
- Rthomas61ExplorerI took some LED white rope lights. Hung up the "hangers" on the awning rail. I laid out the rope lights on the hangers ("S" hooks) and once I was happy, I crimped the "S" hooks LIGHTLY onto the rope lights. Easy install once I pull in and take down when the awning is retracted. I'll have to get a picture at some point but it's about 5 minutes of work installing and once complete, about 1 minute to hang and remove
- harley-daveExplorerI agree with the other posters in that it is to much trouble to hang on the awning. We always put ours out on the ground all around the RV to help keep the critters from under there. read mice, snakes, skunks, squirrels etc. (sometimes the kids too !!!)
Dave - the_happiestcamExplorerIf no hookups, I'll hang the solar powered rope from the awning. If I have shore power, I will lay them on the ground somewhere to help guide foot traffic at night.
- BonefishExplorerLay mine on the ground & use a timmer. DH will not leave the awning out overnight not knowing if it will get windy or have a storm even with it being tied down. Been down that road twice.
