Rubber roof bubbling

You have a serious problem. Leaving it the material is going to stretch and or tear off. Fixing it means a new roof. I would contsct the mfg first thing monday morning, show them the pictures and see what if anything they will do. The cause is poor installation in the first place.

Wow. Air must be getting under it. As far as getting home, you could screw down some slats of wood over the bubble to help keep it down and from spreading further. I am in N. Cal near Jackson. There is room in the driveway (flat) and 110v/water. You can park it here if you want to wait until the wind dies down before hitting the highway.

If thats on lead edge as it appears, yes if the front seperates where the air would blow under could get much worse...

..That's what I would do also. Could even use caulk around the screw holes so he wouldn't need to worry about rain.

Not to big of a deal. I had 1/3 of my membrane make a giant bubble 10 years or so ago. Most of the bubble will push back down onto the glue and will stay in place if you seal the front edge and keep the air out. Screwing some lathe into the seam and side to side every 6 inches or so will keep it down until you get home.

IF the membrane is still intact you can re-glue with a better contact cement once you get home and then use EPDM tape on the front edge and any screw holes you made to get it home. You may need to slit and fold back the membrane to get the contact cement all the way to the edge of the bubble when making the permanent repair.

One hint for a permanent front edge hold down and seal, mix up some All Purpose Bondo and go over the front edge where the transition between the metal and membrane is then cover that with the EPDM tape.

I'm in Sonoma County and have a shop and warehouse. I can help you out a couple hours this weekend (Sunday better) and we can remove the trim and fold it back at an angle towards the skylight in a pretty straight line. I have both adhesives and adhesive tape we use for rubber floors in surgery rooms. More time will be spent with trim and caulk than the re-adhering. Not sure if the repair is documented with pictures, you would have future recourse. PM me if you need help and want to go this route.

Thanks for all your reply’s and offers for help. I just got a hotel in Manteca, going to watch Star Wars, drink a couple beers and try and relax. We are supposed to be in Tahoe, tomorrow. May try and gets some ply wood from a jobsite near by and band aid it til we get home. Thinking I will use my comp coverage on my insurance.

I would cut a big "L" in it and use the appropriate adhesive to resecure it. Then seal the cut with eternabond.
This all assumes it's dry under there. If it's wet, it's a whole new ball game.

I'm beyond words. It's a relatively new camper. Glad I have a one piece fiberglass roof.

After spending 2 days repairing the leaks in a guys FG roof this past summer, you couldn't give me a rig with one.
