Rugged Mountain truck campers?

Anybody ever heard of Rugged Mountain truck campers?

Website

Googled them, and it appears it maybe be former Northland truck campers back in business?

Anybody actually have a Northland/Rugged Mountain truck camper that they want to share their experience about?

Thanks.

  • Truck Camper Magazine online just did an article on them (which I read) and I was surprised that the grey water drained into the black tank. Seems counter productive to me. How do you flush your stinky slinky with no grey water?

Looks to be a nice unit.

The new owner builds tiny houses and the campers in the same building with (according to the article) the same crew that built the Northland.

Prices are listed on the Truck Camper magazine article. Pretty reasonable for a loaded camper (with the odd exception of the grey into black tank).

Interesting how many new builders are popping up. Cirrus last year and now these.

Reminds of the snowmobile industry in the 60's. 300 manufacturers and the industry went bust and now there are 4 left.

Wonder if the same thing will happen to the TC industry.
  • What's the difference between the Yukon and polar? They look the same to me
  • I posted on the Facebook announcement about this. Until they remove the shower draining into the black tank, it's a deal breaker for us to consider

I heard it was 2015 that Northland sold out to Pacific Coach Works.
  • They were great looking campers, however you'll want to double check if the shower grey water still drains into the black (major reason we never bought a northland)
  • Northland as a company went under last year. This is the new company that purchased the assets
  • Rugged Mountain is in fact a replica of northland, same work force and floor plans just with a few upgrades as the siding and better price with the loaded options to get our name out there.
  • I do not have one, but IIRC, Polar and Grizzly were model names of Northland... almost bought a Grizzly years ago. Don't recall the Yukon name though.
