Ok so after reading some of the ridiculous responses that never really addressed my question I decided to do my own research instead. A rv cam is "RV cams are designed more for low-end torque than high-end horsepower." Typically the are a step up from stock with around 204/214 duration and .420/442 lift. I have built several engines for the street but they were designed to go fast in a straight line not pull loads or live at highway speeds.Thanks to the people that suggested the new top end, I plan to go that way. I have looked at headers/intake/heads and new gear drive timing but as for crate engines or big blocks, its not happening. The above mods should run about $2500 including labor and will provide a responsive daily driver with the power to get up and down the mountains around here (the truck lives at 8852).
