Looks like a person with a 2012 Rockwood 5'ver had a similar issue, Lippert covered the door (company who made the part). Seems to me it's a Lippert issue and they stood behind the door outside warranty. Perhaps you can go the same route?
The side comment about Forest River hasn't been my experience. They've always treated me fairly.
