I'd bet your quick connect is plumbed in before the two stage regulator. If you don't have a regulator on the hose from your quick connect to the stove, you will flare mightily.
The solution is to have a regulator at the stove end. This way, if you use other propane appliances that require full delivery to their own regulator, you will be all set. If you plumb the quick connect after the two stage regulator of your propane plumbing and have an additional regulator on the appliance (camp stove), you will only get a small flame, at best.
