- When I worked for a large inverter manufacturer, in tech support (answering tech calls all day), it was all too common for people from certain geographic regions of the US to use the phrase "plugged up" instead of "plugged in". It was mostly the folks from the Southeast
- DutchmenSportExplorerOK, made me laugh. So I did some research. Here's what I found out:
Plugged up:

Google did this, so it must be true! - theoldwizard1Explorer II

I turned mine on in April of this year and will turn it off in the next couple of weeks when I finish winterizing. I still have food in the fridge and freezer, extra space from home.
Been doing this for 12 years now and no problems ever (touch wood) with the fridge.
If it is running on propane with a pilot light, that is a REASONABLE thing to do. - Double_HaulExplorerUnless your using the fridge every weekend I would turn off and leave the doors open a crack. I found out the hard way about leaving in running when I came up to my trailer at my site after an extensive heat wave to find the cooling unit blown out.
- GrandpaKipExplorer IIWow, touchy this morning, aren’t we?
Plugged up, plugged in. Sheesh. It was an RV she was referring to, right?
Even though I’m “plugged up” 24/7 to 30A, I turn on day before using and turn off after removing everything. Mine tends to collect quite a bit of frost, so I like to let that thaw and then wipe down inside and out. Leave the doors open to dry out. - sgfryeExplorer

Plugged up with what? Toilet paper? Are you serious, or trolling? On when you use it, off when you don't. This isn't rocket science!Lynnmor wrote:
I Googled the words "plugged up" and got a real education, especially from the Urban Dictionary. It might be better if folks used real English when using a public forum. :o
What would really be better would be if people didn't have to be such a-holes to someone asking a simple question.

You're right, this isn't rocket science. :R Think about it - by "plugged up" the OP obviously means with the trailer plugged into 120 vac shore power. :S - SoundGuyExplorer

I'd normally turn the fridge off and empty it after each camping trip unless we were intending to head out again within a few days. 2 reasons - running the fridge means I have to ensure the trailer is level vs not bothering if I don't intend to run the fridge. Second reason - I'd prefer to not throw away $$ to power a fridge weeks or months at a time when it's not being used.
