We cover our fifth wheel in New England, the cold and snow isn't really a problem it is the wind that can cause damage to the cover or if it gets loose damage the roof of the trailer . We have not had problems covering the trailer but it is stored in the driveway so if the cover did get loose we would see it and tie it back down or take it off . Some snow on top of the cover helps keep it from billowing in the wind
