RV trailer retracted awning weather protection

Does someone know of a company that makes a weather cover for the awning when it's retracted, to keep rain from getting into the roller and between the fabric or even an awning with the weather cover built in? Thanx !

  • Only enclosed fabric awnings I've seen have been attached to high end DP's and Prevost conversions. So I guess they're out there if you have the $$$$. Haven't unfurled the Dometic awning on our new TT yet. It's doing a nice job of looking like hell on its own..................Gotta wash it and the rest of the trailer this weekend when "fall" finally finds Florida.
  • J.J. Burish made one and left alot of photos on this site.....Look up his report
  • Make your own. Buy one or two pvc gutters and trim to length. You might need a middle connector. But two end caps and cut the end out to fit over the rods coming out the end of the awning. There's a pic or two of someone who did this on this forum and that's my next project. You can tie the ends down to keep it on when your traveling. One guy said that the gutter actually fit in the trailer gutter and didn't affect anything.

You could also order a awing with weather shield.

If you read the reviews they say this cover even makes the water trapping problem and mold much worse so I don't think this is what the OP would want.
